Believe it or not, it works OK under W'95! :)

But I have to make a special build of FBSL.exe without the sockets module because W'95 doesn't have the required sockets support.

That sounds good... :)
Sock2 are missing onto native Win95 < OSR2, so we can imagine to modularize better our grammar into 'external' resources to be used at runtime with #uses fbsl_sockets and memorymodule can help us to realize that... :) It was just a thought ;)

For the users who are running old versions of windows : if the editor crashes, try to REM all calls to PrintStatus() in the .fbs !

(Thank you Mike :) )

Dear Gerome,

Please have a look at the P.S. note here:
http://www.fbsl.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=3644#3644

It was the last edition of my earlier message. The reason is I was never quite able to find the reason why my PrintStatus() assembler routine is so unstable on non-NT platforms. Sometimes it runs (it DOES under my virtual machine W'98 SE) but sometimes it crashes Eclecta so that it can't even start properly.

As I am no longer supporting this (master)piece of code ( :D ), I don't want to dive into the problem once again. So I recommend the easiest solution (resection in surgical terms) to force Eclecta to start on these obsolete platforms.

The merits of using Eclecta at all overweigh the drawbacks of not seeing cursor and file metrics... ;)

Mike :)
